A life shaped by places, stories, and the people who call them home.
I have always been a traveller at heart.
Growing up as an Army child meant that home was never just one place. My father’s postings took our family across different corners of India, and from a young age, I had the privilege of experiencing the country not merely as a visitor, but as someone who lived within its many changing landscapes and cultures.
Over the years, I have travelled across almost half of India—through bustling cities, quiet towns, historic forts, mountain roads, coastal landscapes, and places where traditions have been preserved for generations. Every move brought with it a new language, a different cuisine, unfamiliar customs, and stories waiting to be discovered.
Those experiences taught me something I continue to believe: travel is not simply about seeing a place; it is about understanding it.I became fascinated by the little details—the rituals followed by families, the stories behind festivals, the architecture of old cities, the food passed down through generations, and the ways in which every region has its own rhythm and character.
And alongside this love for travel grew another constant in my life: books.
Books have always been another way of travelling for me. They have taken me into different eras, cultures, lives, and worlds that exist far beyond a map. Somewhere between turning pages and crossing state borders, I found my two greatest passions coming together.
Why Amara Sage?
Amara Sage is a space born from these two loves—travel and books.
Here, I want to share the places that have stayed with me, the stories that have moved me, the books that deserve to be discovered, and the cultural details that make every destination more than just a point on a map.
Whether it is wandering through the lanes of cities discovering an old place, sitting down with a book on a quiet afternoon, or learning the story behind a centuries-old tradition, I believe there is always something worth noticing.
This website is my attempt to bring those observations together—a personal journal of places explored, pages turned, and stories collected along the way.
Come wander with me.
Through Amara Sage, I hope to inspire you to travel a little more thoughtfully, read a little more curiously, and look beyond the obvious.
Because sometimes the most beautiful journeys are not about how far we go, but how deeply we experience where we are.
Welcome to Amara Sage — where journeys meet stories.
